Do you ever feel like new music is watered down?
Do the beats all sound the same?
Is the creativity evaporating from the face of the earth?
My name is Joseph Andersen. As an artist and creator, I go by Joe Philly. If you’re reading this, nice to meeetcha!
I am the CEO of ASMG which stands for Aurora Street Music Group. I’ve been creating music for over 20 years so following highly successful endeavors in the development side of my craft, I’m now venturing into the commercial market. I’ve been honing my skills in my home studios over the last couple decades, and worked out of several major studios as a sound engineer. Having three entertainment companies in my lifetime, —They say the third time’s the charm….Hope so!
As an experienced well seasoned artist —from lyrics, to production, to artwork and videography, I pride myself on creating most of my projects alone from start to finish.
My creative influences are, in my opinion, the greatest to ever touch the pen and the mic. From new to old…Marvin Gaye, The Isley Brothers, Charlie Wilson, Michael Jackson, Prince, Sublime, No Doubt, Eagles, Bob Marley, Elton John, Paul Simon, Elvis, 2Pac, Biggie, Eminem, Dr. Dre, Twista, Outkast, Jay Z, Christina Aguilera, Ariana Grande, Jodeci, Drake, Lil Wayne, Juvenile, NWA, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony…the list goes on.
I love music! I love creating music! I strive to be the best artist I can be. My sound has influences from all these artists.
I spent the first half of my life growing up in Orange County, California. Immersed in the Hip-Hop culture of the 80s and 90s, R&B, Rock, Reggae, Breakdancing, Graffiti, Boom Boxes, Battle Rapping— all had impact on who I am today as an artist.
The second half of my life I spent mostly in West Texas along with sometime in San Antonio and the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

I’ve done everything from Public Relations, Club Promotions,
Music Production, to managing award winning hip hop artists.
During a 10-year span of throwing Hip Hop events, one of my most memorable was Mic’s of the Round Table.
It was an experiment that became a hit on the streets. You would pay a cover charge which included dinner and the entry into the battle, It became a dinner show that was extremely entertaining.
I also got into main stream club promotions with some of Los Angeles’ premier promoters and conducted large scale events with names such as J. Cole, YG, Nipsey Hussle, E-40, Paul Wall, The Rejects, Tiger, Chris Brown, 2 Chainz— to name a few.
Since 2005 I have been part of a group called Cali Routes. In 2007, I helped produce an album for Eternal Souls which I also wrote and performed on. In 2010, the groups decided to merge and called ourselves the CRES BOYZ. We released two albums between Cali Routes and Eternal Souls. “Method to Madness” and “The Demonstration”. We are currently sitting on literally hundreds of mastered songs— ready to go— and four group albums that have not been released.
As a solo artist, I released Phillyosophy in 2007 which I released in 2019. In 2020, I released an EP entitled Philip and in 2021 I have so far released four singles including “Charges”, “1000 Miles”, “Zippo”, and “Babies”. “Charges” has a reggae, trap, thug vibe to it that will leave you wanting more and “1000 Miles” has a dark, West Coast, bouncing, high energy vybe with high speed lyrics that capture all audiences.
I am currently residing in Pennsylvania where my studio is located which I called “The Dungeon”.
